Gracias Madre

This popular vegan Mexican restaurant is slowly taking over the world and has recently opened up a spot in West Hollywood (but we all know the OG Mission spot is the best).


Greens Restaurant 

(2 Marina Blvd // Marina) 

Since 1979, Greens has been providing gourmet vegetarian cuisine to the bay area. With its ever-changing menu and panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, this is a good place for date night.


Shizen Vegan Sushi Bar 

(370 14th St // Mission) 

Sushi lovers will be pleasantly surprised with Shizen's twist on rolls, nigiri, and even sashimi. Go on a meatless Monday night because this spot fills up quickly. 


CHA-Ya 

(762 Valencia St // Mission)

Like Shizen, the all-vegetarian menu sets this spot apart from typical Japanese restaurants. With great service and fantastic soba noodles, vegan rolls, and more, this is a veggie lovers paradise!


Ananda Fuara 

(1298 Market // Civic Center)

The food at this vegetarian hole-in-the-wall is the BOMB. Go for the "Neatloaf" Sandwich and Portobello Quesadilla, stay for the award-winning Veggie Burger.

Millenium Restaurant

Named one of the best vegetarian/vegan restaurants in the world by Food & Wine Magazine, Millennium isn't messing around with its plant-based fine dining options.


Souley Vegan 

(301 Broadway // Oakland)

It's hard to imagine soul food without ingredients like chicken, cheese, and cream. But Souley Vegan combines the two and does it damn well with southern classics like Sizzlin' Skillet Mac & Cheese and "steaks" with gravy and mash.


Golden Lotus 

(1301 Franklin St // Oakland)

Vietnamese fare with a vegetarian flair. From their veg versions of bun bo hue to their papaya salad, there's no shortage of deliciousness here. 


Cinnaholic 

(2131 Oxford St // Berkeley)

Every UC Berkeley student knows this legendary spot! If we placed a Cinnaholic cinnamon bun next to a regular old cinnamon bun and asked you to try both, we bet you wouldn't be able to tell which one was vegan. In fact, we bet that you'd prefer Cinnaholic's toasty buns, and they have a loyal following to prove that fact.


The Butcher's Son

(1954 University Ave // Berkeley)

"California's original vegan butcher" absolutely nails comfort food, no meat required. Everything on their menu is rich and delicious, from the Fried "Chicken" Bagelwich to the Big Fat Greek Tofu Sando to the "Pastrami" Reuben to the – well, you get it. Stop by and bless your taste buds.

Craft Roots

A plant-based menu plus killer brews and signature cocktails? Oh, we're in. This cute neighborhood spot in Morgan Hill is a hit with the locals for good reason. It's a great place to spend a fun happy hour over a plate of buffalo cauliflower or a chili cheeze burger, so don't waste any time swinging by.


Green Lotus

With fresh ingredients delivered daily, this place is sure to hit the spot when you're craving Vietnamese dishes like spring rolls, pho, or clay pot "pork".


Vegetarian House

It's all in the name, folks. They've got some veggie classics like thai curry or mushroom tacos, but also some fun innovations like quinoa sushi. Enjoy your meal to-go or in their outdoor garden.


Veggie Garden

You won't miss meat once you try a Veggie Garden dish. They use all-natural and fresh ingredients, artistically decorated on each plate.


Good Karma

They say what comes around, goes around. Hopefully, that's good karma for all of us! Head over to this joint and grab a bite of their bomb Thai curry burrito paired with a craft beer.

Veggie Grill has the whole package when it comes to healthy options! Burgers, sandwiches, salads, bowls, you name it — they've got tons of vegan deliciousness at the ready.

Cafe Del Soul cultivates a positive experience for customers with a welcoming environment, uplifting music, and meals using fresh ingredients.


Active Culture Cafe

This uber-healthy, all-natural spot is a great place to fill up after a hike or a bike ride. Bringing the health without sacrificing any flavor, Active Culture is every vegetarian's dream. We'd def recommend their smoothies or the fan-favorite Not Your Mama's Nachos.
