San Francisco

Flowercraft

Flowercraft

(550 Bayshore Blvd // Bernal Heights)

It may be called Flowercraft, but they’ve got everything from flowers to fruit trees to succulents to cats strolling the grounds (not for sale). It's huge spot with lots to see, so show up ready to wander!

Clement Nursery

Clement Nursery

(1921 Clement St // Richmond)

With almost 80 years under their belt, the team at Clement Nursery knows what they're doing. The knowledgeable staff, flourishing plant babies, and affordable prices mean this nursery is a haven for plant lovers.

SF Flower Mart

SF Flower Mart

(901 16th St // Potrero Hill)

This one’s straight from the source, people. SF Flower Mart is one of only five grower-owned wholesale flower markets in the US and they’ve got the prices to show for it. This is the spot for all your floral needs.

Cole Hardware

Cole Hardware

(Multiple Locations)

Cole Hardware is one of the bigger names in the houseplant-selling game, but still an SF, family-owned staple nonetheless, so we think it's worth including. Especially considering those prices, Cole is a pretty solid pick for scooping up some succulents.

East Bay

Blk Girls Green House

Blk Girls Green House

(1700 Center St // Oakland)

"It's a beautiful time to grow" is their motto, and a good one it is. This Black woman-owned plant nursery is the perfect plant oasis, community space, and, of course, "an absolute vibe." Pop over to their garden in Oakland and treat yourself to a new plant baby, or even some stylish home decor.

Cactus Jungle

Cactus Jungle

(1509 Fourth St // Berkeley)

A plant nerd's dream. Their selection is truly a feast for the eyes and some of their items like their handmade succulent wreaths or mixed boxes make them stand out from the rest. Always a solid spot for anything botanical.

Flowerland

Flowerland

(1330 Solano Ave // Albany)

Deemed "an old-fashioned nursery and gift shop for the modern gardener," Flowerland has been one of Berkeley's neighborhood staples since 1946, but they're most definitely with the times. They even have a little coffee shop on site (Highwire), so you can sip a latte whilst strolling the garden.

East Bay Nursery

East Bay Nursery

(2232 San Pablo Ave // Berkeley)

We love a solid, no-frills type of nursery. East Bay Nursery has all the glorious plants and all the knowledgable plant-loving staff, without the sky-rocketing prices and pretension. They even have produce (including pumpkins in the fall) as well as Christmas trees!

Annie's

Annie’s Annuals and Perennials

(740 Market Ave // Richmond)

Darling. Adorable. Lovely. Enchanting. The list goes on with Annie's. They have all the plants, flowers, trees, seeds, herbs, and cacti you could dream of, and more.

South Bay + Peninsula

Golden Nursery

Golden Nursery

(1122 2nd Ave // San Mateo)

Quality finds, fair prices, beautiful pots + planters – what more do you need? Plus, the grounds are beautiful enough to just wander and forget you're shopping.

Wegman's Nursery

Wegman's Nursery

(492 Woodside Rd // Redwood City)

A classic nursery chock-full of everything you need for a beautiful garden and/or indoor plant babies. And they've got all  your Christmas needs as well including trees, garland, and wreaths. Love it.

Half Moon Bay Nursery

Half Moon Bay Nursery

(11691 San Mateo Rd // Half Moon Bay)

HMB Nursery is quite possibly the biggest nursery we've seen so far. Whether you're an avid gardener or new to the green game, they've got something for everyone at solid prices.

Fractal Flora

Fractal Flora

(1461 Park Ave // San Jose)

Award for the cutest plant pots? And for the cutest arrangements? Quite possibly. You can order any of their pots, plants, terrariums, and flowers for pick up or local delivery, and they have a sweet little gift section perfect for the plant-lovers in your life (including yourself).

North Bay

Flourish

Flourish

(5 Fourth St // Petaluma)

The cutest little jungle shop. Flourish has everything from house plant babies to hangers to books to crystals + tarot cards for you hippie folks out there. We could honestly spend hours in this place and not get tired of it.

The Potting Shed

The Potting Shed

(55A Bolinas Rd // Fairfax)

I mean, just look at it. How could you resist going inside? The Potting Shed used to strictly be a nursery, but in the last decade or so they've shifted more into house plants, accessories, pots, and gifts, and we're here for it. Not feeling like hitting the storefront? Call to order delivery instead!

Green Jeans

Green Jeans Garden Supply

(690 Redwood Hwy // Mill Valley)

Green Jeans is only slightly on the higher side of the  pricing scale, but is still most definitely reasonably priced considering it's locally-owned, eco-friendly, and stacked with quality finds. Pop over to Mill Valley and pay them a visit!

Mid City Nursery

Mid City Nursery

(3635 Broadway // American Canyon)

It's certifiably impossible to pass up a nursery with a resident cat on-site. Not to mention they also have an insane collection of plants, flowers, succulents, macrame hangers, accessories, and pottery at killer prices.

NextDoor + Facebook

(The Interwebs)

Really on a budget? Join your neighborhood’s NextDoor and Facebook pages for a chance to snag some free plant trimmings you can re-pot/propagate. We love a good DIY plant-parent project.
