San Francisco

Via Ocean Beach Cafe

Ocean Beach Cafe

(734 La Playa St // Outer Richmond)

Beachy vibes and non-alcoholic drinks are always on tap at Ocean Beach Cafe. Their expansive menu covers features finely crafted mocktails, zero-ABV wine, and booze-free beer. Looking to learn more about the burgeoning NA scene? Book one of their Temperance Tastings.

Trick Dog

(3010 20th St // Mission)

If you’re sick of run-of-the-mill mocktails, hit up Trick Dog. The bar is legendary for its out-of-the-box libations, and their booze-free options are no less inventive. Plus, their always-rotating menu means you’ll never run out of new options to try.

Via Starlite

Starlite

(450 Powell St // Union Square)

Enjoy a non-alcohol drink with a view at Starlite, located at the top of Beacon Grand in Union Square. This bar has served drinks since 1928, but their modern menu caters to those who want alcohol-free alternatives. Check out The Free Spirited section of their menu for a mocktail named after every season, plus non-alcohol beer & wine offerings.

Horsefeather

(528 Divisadero St // Alamo Square)

Get experimental here and order the Daisy Dukes, a fresh beverage with NA tequila! Let Horsefeather’s excellent bartenders know what kind of non-alcoholic drink you’re craving and they’ll whip up something custom for you.

Via Laszlo

Laszlo

(2526 Mission St // Mission)

This little gem — Foreign Cinema’s sister bar — is one of our favorite spots in the Mission. If the cozy seating, great music, and bar bites don’t entice you, the drinks will. Highlights of their current mocktail offerings include the botanical Piece of My Heart and the minty Dog with Sharper Teeth.

The Interval at Long Now

(Landmark Building A, 2 Marina Boulevard // Fort Mason)

The classy cocktails here are worth the trip out to Fort Mason. Their no-ABV options range include non-alcoholic beers, Italian-style spritzes and complex shrub tinctures to tickle your taste buds.

Via The Snug

The Snug

(2301 Fillmore St // Pacific Heights)

Swing by The Snug for lunch, dinner, and of course, a few drinks. Try their aloe mocktail or Yellow Peach Smash mocktail for a refreshing and invigorating NA sip.

ABV

(3174 16th St // Mission)

Though they may derive their name from the abbreviation for "alcohol by volume," many of the drinks on this Mission District bar's extensive menu are zero-ABV. We love their N/A Negroni, which is just as bitter and fruity as the real thing; they also have ginger, tarragon, or passion fruit-flavored drinks to sip on — and an extensive "low-ABV" selection, in case you want a little something that won't go straight to your head.

East Bay

Via Juanita and Maude

Juanita and Maude

(825 San Pablo Ave // Albany)

Flavor is the name of the game at Juanita and Maude, whether it’s the (excellent) food or the impressively sophisticated mocktails. The mixologists here are always experimenting, so no matter the alcohol content, each drink will be memorable.

Alkali Rye

(3156 Grand Ave // Oakland)

Focused on highlighting underrepresented beverage-makers, Alkali Rye has a varied and impressive selection of drinks for sale, including tons of popular 0 ABV options. They also offer tastings and gift boxes of both the alcoholic and booze-free variety.

Via Gather Kitchen & Bar

Gather Kitchen & Bar

(2200 Oxford St // Berkeley)

From their Cucumber Mint Spritz to their Pomegranate Limeade, this Berkeley farm-to-table restaurant has an intriguing selection of elevated NA drinks.

Alley & Vine

(1332 Park St Unit D // Alameda)

You can’t go wrong with a hand-crafted mocktail from Alley & Vine. Try their Mock-arita, which is a cheeky take on the tequila classic cocktail.

Via Study Hall

Study Hall Rooftop Lounge

(2121 Center St // Berkeley)

Drinks on the rooftop? Say less. This Berkeley spot is much more upscale (literally) than the college bars that surround it, and they’re very accommodating in terms of alcohol-free options — any one of their house cocktails can be made sans spirits.

Nido's Backyard

(104 Oak St // Oakland)

Come for the food, stay for the drinks! Enjoy outdoor seating at this Oakland favorite, which has a small but mighty nonalcoholic drink list. Try the Agua Fuego for a fruity and spicy good time, or treat your tastebuds to a Chocolate Caliente for an elevated hot cocoa experience.

South Bay + Peninsula

Via Fox Tale Fermentation Project

Fox Tale Fermentation Project

(30 E Santa Clara St // San Jose)

Fox Tale Fermentation Project hasn’t been around very long, but they’ve already racked up quite a bit of critical acclaim for their innovative takes on beer — and a food selection that dazzles the palate with tangy fermented ingredients. Their rotating menu of unique "Mock Tales" and kombuchas are a delight!

Meso Modern Mediterranean

(3060 Olsen Dr #50 // San Jose)

Meso’s mocktails only enhance the already vibrant flavors of their Mediterranean menu, and their bevy of non-alcoholic bevvies is truly enviable. They have zero proof “gin,” “tequila,” “whiskey,” and even CBD cocktails for the 21+ crowd.

Via Dr. Funk

Dr. Funk

(29 N San Pedro St // San Jose)

Tiki bars aren't exactly known for going light on the sauce. Ever noticed how many of these tropical-themed watering holes limit the number of Zombies a customer is allowed to order? Thankfully, this delightfully decorated, South Bay x South Pacific hangout has been known to craft delicious non-alcoholic options — so you can get your fix of pineapple and passionfruit without worrying about the drink catching fire.

Paper Plane

(72 S First St // San Jose)

When it comes to ambiance, it's hard to beat Paper Plane. Their library of spirits, which towers over the bar, is truly something to behold. But they also know how to mix up creative craft mocktails, which include zero proof spirits.

North Bay

Via Fern Bar

Fern Bar

(6780 Depot St, Suite 120 // Sebastopol)

“Bar” might be in the name, but Fern Bar doesn’t shy away from sober-friendly options. They regularly rotate their “Free-Spirited” menu. Last we checked, they had five options — including the herbaceous "NAgroni" and berry-licious "Euphoria."

Duke’s Spirited Cocktails

(111 Plaza St // Healdsburg)

True to their name, Duke’s cocktails are all spirited, even if some of them don’t have any spirits. Try the cucumber tonic, or get a classic NA bottled/canned beverage.
