Metric is an indie-rock and new wave band consisting of Emily Haines, Jimmy Shaw, Joshua Winstead and Joules Scott-Key. Since their first album Old World Underground, Where Are You Now?, released in September 2003, the band has achieved a great number of accomplishments. In 2010 their music was featured in two major Hollywood films including the lovable Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and the notorious Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Also being the first band in history to score their first Top 20 commercial radio hit in the U.S. without the backing of an outside label, Metric has repeatedly proven their creative talent.
Transitioning into new glossy synthpop sounds with their most recent album Pagans In Vegas, released in September of 2015, Metric further deepens the new wave sound from their previous album Syncthetica (2012). Touching on technological themes, Pagans in Vegas' stiff synths and glitches out tracks bring an unfamiliar sense of uplifting while staying true to their history with dark tones and skeptical lyrics. Remaining as innovative as ever, Metric creates a new and exciting full album experience that listeners, both new and old, can enjoy.
